This is the second time that Menomena has made the number one spot on my year-end list. There is something about this band that hits me deep in the mind bones and heart bones. This strange thing always happens where I feel a SUPERDEEP connection with their lyrics—like I've experienced the same EXACT same things SOMEWHERE in my OWN life. This album took a few listens to get into, but after a couple of spins I was totally ADDICTED to it. This album could also get my vote for "MOST SAD ALBUM OF THE YEAR" but I'm into sad stuff, so I dig it. The lyrics in the drawing above really hit me in my heartmind. They are from the song "Pique" which I have embedded below.
