I’m Published!

Filed under: News — admin @ 12:33 pm

Last semester I had a few of my designs published in the Auburn University Circle, a student art and literature publication.

This semester one of my previous professors, unbeknowst to me, submitted a painting that I did in his class last semester. And boy am I glad that he did! It was publised!

Here it is:

Little bitty update.

I recently worked with my best bud Daniel DeVaughn to create a set of business cards to cater to his multi-faceted lifestyle.

He is a musician by trade, but will have a degree in English in a few months, so we ran with that and made him one business card for his musical side and one for his grammatical side.

Also, I recently received the tour posters for These Are Magnets that I designed and ordered from ICON.

They did a fantastic job, and I am really pleased with the print quality and the way the colored turned out.

From the Vault.

A few times in Boston, Red and I got caught in the rain.

We narrowly escaped the rain yesterday evening, and that reminded me of this picture from Boston:

You should expect some design updates tomorrow.

A Couple of Things

I forgot to post about these when the website went live, but now I can.

Last semester, I entered some work into a student design/illustration show here at Auburn, and I won two awards.

The First:
Constructivism
The Second:
Heart

Also, I sort of made this tonight:

Coming Soon.

So I realize that it has been a number of weeks since my last update despite the fact that I made a commitment to update daily. For that I apologize.

I have been extremely busy, and for that I make no apologies.

The following is a relatively brief overview of what I have been doing instead of drawing Quotidians, and a preview of my senior project that I will release into the wild in early November:

I did some freelance illustration work, and used the full amount of payment to buy an organ. Then I wrote “The Welcome Home Theme” which I play everyday around 6 p.m. Here I can be seen playing it and Doug can be seen dancing:

Also, we went to a carnival and got a funnel cake.

Now for senior project business.

And personally I’ve been up to this:

Now it’s back to the studio to hammer out more designs.

Shomer Shabbos

Filed under: News, quotidians — admin @ 1:09 pm

So, I have been as sick as a little baby for the past several days, curled up in the fetal position with vertigo. So, I forgot to scan in my drawing yesterday, and as far as Sunday goes… I completely forgot. I was going to use the excuse that I am Shomer Shabbos and that “I don’t work, I don’t get in a car, I don’t fucking ride in a car, I don’t pick up the phone, I don’t turn on the oven, and I sure as shit don’t fucking draw! Shomer Shabbos!” But then I remembered that the Jewish sabbath is Saturday, not Sunday like the Christians’. SOO, I can’t use that excuse.

Monday’s Drawing:

Now, for today’s drawing the inspiration was that whole schpiel coupled with the fact that the work that I do at Mammoth Printshop is about 75% Christian related.

As of tonight, this is me:

Lou documented the affair with photographs, so I’m sure those’ll make it up here sometime in the future.
